A groove based DJ that enjoys the journey more than the genre.

That’s how Brittpop describes himself as a DJ.  Never afraid to go across genres if needed to create the perfect journey, his selections are more about what he finds interesting rather than what is new on Beatport.

Having grown up on his father’s eclectic combination of Progressive Rock (Genesis, Yes, Pink Floyd), synth-based 80s music (Depeche Mode, Human League, Pet shop boys), Disco (Bee Gees, ELO), and Motown (Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder), all which became infused with his own love for both video game music & 90’s house, garage and techno, Brittpop ended up with quite a mixed spectrum of musical influence.

Today, this translates into sets where he picks apart and infuses together all the pieces of this music that he loves best: beautiful synth work, funky bass-lines, and catchy vocals… all on top of a varying house, break and dub beats.

Though he loves playing in nightclubs, patios and special events, his love for music goes beyond the spectrum of just mixing tunes. Living in a house full of musicians he gets to exercise his ability to create with some of his favorite people. He also has a weekly radio show focused on the EDM scene that he produces with his son, Cryptic. The show goes out on a Thursday in the north of England and gives both him and Cryptic a chance to really dig into what the scene has to offer and bring it to an appreciative audience.
